<span style="font-size: 13.5pt;">It is amazing how 26 letters of the English alphabet make up
hundreds of thousands of words. Growing up I remember how mean my peers were to me
in just the words they spoke. Eventually I learned to sing a particular song
as a defense strategy against those bullies, "<i>Sticks and stones may
break my bones but words can never hurt me." </i>Lol. I'm not very
sure who came up with that little song, but the truth of the matter is, I've
come to understand how far from true that little song is. Those negative words
spoken to me had an impact on me.Words do hurt!! Words have power! Words
actually cut deeper and hurt more than sticks or even stones. Words touch your
heart! Words can bring things together and words can tear things apart. That is
the power of words.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

<span style="font-size: 13.5pt;">In Genesis 1:3, it is the manifestation of words spoken
by God that brought the world into existence (also see Heb. 11:3). Furthermore,
it is the manifestation of words that made a lion a lion and a bear a bear as
Adam was given the authority to call out names for each animal and as he spoke
so they were (Gen. 2:20). So you see that words have power and are capable of
giving you authority to call things into existence and those things exist because you called them into being. An authority that should not be taken for granted but often is. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: 13.5pt;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: 13.5pt;">Words are available to you as a result of what you are
thinking, seeing or feeling. They are a reflection of what is in your heart. As
Jesus said <i>"...out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks."</i>
(Matt. 12:34). </span><span style="font-size: 18px;">You can use words to bless or you can use words to curse.</span><span style="font-size: 18px;"> Depending on the content and state of your heart (pure and innocent or full of hate and contempt) the words you utter from the depth of your heart come to life and take effect. </span><span style="font-size: 13.5pt;">Positive words uplift, Negative words put down. Words have the
power to give life and words have the power to take life! I heard of the story
of a young man a few months ago who took his life because of the power of
words. Words spoken by someone else to him advising him to take his life and he
listened. </span></div>

<span style="font-size: 13.5pt;">Solomon said in Proverbs 28:21 </span><i><span style="font-family: "arial" , sans-serif; font-size: 13.5pt;">"</span></i><i><span style="font-size: 13.5pt;">Death and life are in the power of the
tongue, they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof."</span></i><span style="font-size: 13.5pt;"> Once words come out
of your mouth they become planted as seeds that bear fruit. That fruit makes a difference in the countenance of your brother or sister giving them happiness and joy or sadness and pain. Words carry power, they are eaten and digested. </span><span style="font-size: 13.5pt;">Because words have to be eaten and digested, Paul said in </span><span style="font-size: 18px;">Colossians</span><span style="font-size: 13.5pt;"> 4 verse 6,
</span><i style="font-size: 13.5pt;">"Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may
know how you ought to answer each one." </i></div>

<span style="font-size: 13.5pt;">How are you using your words? To build up or to destroy? Proverbs
12:6 says <i>"The words of the wicked are like a murderous ambush, but the
words of the godly save lives." </i>Our words must be to lift up and not to
put down. We must cultivate this as a habit, learning to take authority using
our words properly and using <i>'The'</i> Word to obtain our victory. <o:p></o:p></span></div>

<span style="font-size: 13.5pt;">A simple compliment can make the difference in someone's day who
has already been convinced by the Devil that he or she is no good and of no
use. Simple and gentle yet powerful can words repair what has been deemed destroyed and
desolate. Jesus healed and cast out demons with words. You have been given
authority to do the same. <o:p></o:p></span></div>

<span style="font-size: 13.5pt;">According to James (chapter 3 verse 8) no man can tame the tongue
because it is an unruly evil full of deadly poison. By the power and
guidance of the Holy Spirit however, through the transformation of the heart you can
speak life, empower, transform, and inspire yourself and others with this same tongue. Considering what Jesus said
in Matthew 12:34 what is abundant in your heart is what is reflected in your
words. Therefore endeavor to fill our hearts with whatever things are
true, noble, just, pure, lovely and of good report, as Apostle Paul said,<i> 'meditate on these things'</i> (Phil 4:8) so that it may be reflected in your words.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

It is to be an intimate and private place with just you and God; no one else is invited! In the Secret Place you can hear God and experience His glory. 1. <b>Holiness</b>-We can desire to enter into the Secret Place but ultimately God decides to allow us in, this is based on our holiness. We must be holy as He is holy. 1 Peter 1:15 <o:p></o:p></div>

2. <b>Pure heart- </b>According to Psalm 24:3-4 it is only the pure in heart that can stand in God's holy place. You must be blameless.<o:p></o:p></div>

I often get ushered into my Secret Place with God through intense worship and speaking in tongues. I love to just get lost in God's glory so that I can hear Him clearly and see revelations according to His will. "What else do you want me to do TSA officer, strip down? God forbid!- Let me just tell you, it's going to keep going off because I'm wearing heavy metal.Yes, heavy metal. The belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, shoes of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation and the sword of the spirit. You see, TSA officer, these I cannot remove. They are part of my spiritual apparel. I need these for the constant battle against evil.<br />

When Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins, He was buried and rose on the third day to ascend into Heaven. He conquered the grave and because of that I we were made overcomers. He equipped us with this armor that we may remain victorious overcomers. In Ephesians 6:10-17 Apostle Paul observed the protective armor of the Roman soldiers who guarded him while a prisoner in Rome. He used it to explain to Believers how they can defend themselves against the constant vicous attacks of our adversary.<br />

<b>The Belt of Truth</b><br />
<b> </b>The belt of the Roman soldier was pertinent in keeping the other pieces of armor in place. As believers the belt of truth keeps our spiritual armor in place. The "truth" is the Word of God. The truth about us is in the Word. Before God formed you in your mothers womb, He knew you and the plans for your life (Jeremiah 1:5).That is the truth. The truth also is the devil is deceptive and the Word says he is the "father of lies" (John 8:44). He will come and tell you there's no future for you but that is a lie.<br />
<br />
<b>The Breastplate of Righteousness</b><br />
The breastplate covered the heart and vital organs of the soldier. One of the major vital organs we have is the heart. The Bible tells us to guard our heart for out of it flows the issues of life (Proverbs 4:23). In order to guard our hearts there must be repentance that grants forgiveness of sins. This allows us to live righteously, doing what is right in the sight of God. Living righteously by being conscious of what we expose ourselves to. Being conscious of what and how we speak. "My tongue shall speak of Your Word..." (Psalms 119:172). Living in obedience to God's Word as God Himself puts on righteousness as a breastplate ( Isaiah 59:17).<br />
<br />
<b>Shoes of Peace</b><br />
The shoes of the Roman soldier were described as having layers of metal and leather with spikes that would dig into the ground and provide stability for the soldier.Our shoes of peace will allow us to take an unmovable stance against our opponent the devil. If we don't stand for something, we will fall for everything. The layers of our shoes of peace ought to be love, joy, peace, gentleness, patience, goodness, faith, self-control and meekness (Galatians 5:22-23). With these we will be balanced and stable with integrity and good moral standards. Spiritual footwear.<br />
<br />
<b>The Shield of Faith</b><br />
<b> </b>The shield of the soldier was made of lightweight metal but tough and durable. It repelled fiery darts and arrows to the enemy. Faith is our protection plan. It is our assurance that God exists and our faith pleases God (Hebrews 11:6). Your unwavering faith makes it difficult for arrows of doubt, fear and disbelief to penetrate.<br />
<br />
<b>The Helmet of Salvation</b><br />
<b> </b>The helmet of the Roman soldier deflected blows to the head. The helmet of salvation protects our minds. We are advised to be transformed by the renewing of our mind in Romans 12:2. The mind is a critical part of the body. What we think, what we feel, what we hear and see must balance with the Word, otherwise there will be despair and discouragement. Hope can be lost and discomfort can set in.<br />
<br />
<b>The Sword of the Spirit</b><br />
The soldiers sword is fierce, sharp and deadly. Does it remind you of two things? The Word and the tongue! What a bold combination. "The Word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, of joints and marrow and able to judge the thoughts and intents of the heart." (Hebrews 4:12) "Life and death resides in the power of the tongue...." (Proverbs 18:21) What's the combination all about? What you speak determines what you get. If you speak the Word in faith, it operates as a terrifying weapon against the kingdom of darkness. Effective and effectual prayer is composed of the Word and the use of the tongue. The sword of the spirit is the tool that makes all parts of the armor more effective. It is our offensive weapon. It is what we use to fight back against the enemy. <i>"It is written</i>", followed by a scripture should readily flow from our tongue when the enemy brings its troubles and wages war.<br />
<br />
To be a victorious soldier, we need our defensive and offensive tools on at all times so that we are protected and ready to fight anytime the enemy comes.<br />

<p dir="ltr">1st Corinthians 13 has long been my go-to scripture whenever I think about the topic of Love. It does such a great job of defining love and it provides the guidelines for love.<br>
It's a scripture that I usually attribute to love between a husband and wife but I've recently come to realize that it's not just to define and the guidelines of love between husband and wife but also amongst the brethren.<br>
Have you ever encountered a situation where you have shown love at all costs according to the scripture, but still you are left with asking yourself , "why is love so hard?" "I show this person so much love and yet she behaves so retched, she makes it difficult to love." "I do all I can for him and still he makes it difficult to love him." Suddenly you find yourself on that thin line between love and hate. When love becomes hard.</p>
<p dir="ltr">Chapter 13 of 1st Corinthians was the Apostle Paul's way of teaching the Corinthians the essential role that love plays in the life of a believer. He attempts to show how needful it is for the body of Christ to be unified and work together and that could only be achieved with love. He starts off by describing how empty one's life is without love. In verses 1 through 3 he defines the constructs of love by detailing how far love must be willing to go to be exemplified and personified and the do's and don't's of love.</p>
<p dir="ltr">In order to really understand, we should consider the basics. Jesus' golden rule is "...do to others as you would have them do to you", (Luke 6:31, Matt. 7:12). Fortunately we human beings are just awesome to say the least! I always consider that God must sit back and marvel at His creation sometimes and just shake His head. The golden rule is the simplicity that is meant to make loving people easy. No matter what a person does or fails to do, love must always be the principle thing. Romans 3:23 says "For ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory of God and ALL are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus." We are fallen creatures right from the beginning. We are selfish and prefer to love ourselves than to love others. We can be so judgmental because we often fail to remember that the short comings of other's can just as easily be our own shortcomings.</p>
<p dir="ltr">Love is meant to stand out! No wonder the fruit of the spirit begins with love (Gal. 5:22-23). Love conquers, love lifts and love sets free. It's because of this love that God gave His only begotten son. It's because of this love that Abraham passed the ultimate test. It's because of this love that Jesus was willing to die upon that cross. Love is so powerful and Satan will do all he can to rip it out of your heart and tell you "love is too hard, it's less stress if you just hate." But hate is a criminal that comes with his accomplices such as anger, annoyance, irritation, gossip, backbiting and the rest! Hate takes away what has been freely given to you which is love; for John 3:16 says that God loved the world (which is us) that He gave His only begotten son, that whoever believes in him shall have everlasting life." Everlasting life in love, liberty, grace and so much more.  Therfore you must always show love no matter what the obstacles are.</p>
<p dir="ltr">We make love difficult by treating it as just an emotional response. It's that emotional aspect that makes love difficult. We put so much expectation in human beings who will fail because they are not God. Love is a responsibility because God is love. Love is a command says John 13:34, "I give you a new commandment;love one another. Just as I have loved you, you must also love one another."<br>
I love you because God love's me despite my mistakes, despite my shortcomings He loves me at all cost.</p>
<p dir="ltr">Some people are difficult to love because they don't know how to express love, but you must just still show them love no matter what and be the example of love that Jesus is for all of us. There is a popular saying that says "kill them with kindness". Yes!, Kill that hate within them with kindness. Love no matter how much resistance you are faced with.</p>
<p dir="ltr">Make love easy by abiding by the following:<br>
-Love by doing to others as you want them to do to you. (Luke 6:31 & Matt. 7:12)<br>
-Love without keeping a record of wrongs,<br>
-Love by humbling yourself at all times.<br>
-Love by being sincere. (Rom. 12:9)<br>
-Love by hating evil (Rom. 12:9)</p>
<p dir="ltr">A man by the name of John Randolph Price said "Chose to live in love, as love, with love and every aspect of your life will change dramatically."  When you chose to love above all, you are a winner and a conqueror. You experience peace. You overcome the schemes of the enemy by allowing love to be 'the most excellent way' as Paul says in 1 Corinthians 13:1.</p>

<u>Broken to Breakthrough</u><br />

I found that there are 10 meanings under the word Brokenness in the dictionary. The 7th meaning in the dictionary states 'subdued totally;humbled'. It then refers the meaning to a broken spirit, which is just perfect for the context of this subject. Brokenness is the process that brings the believer to the truest essence of humility. When you are broken, all walls are being brought down, all that fallibly kept you standing without God is taken away. In the state of brokenness all is stripped away and make you into what God desired you to be. You may be wondering if the other definitions of brokenness are not important. Well, they are unimportant when you consider the end results. When things are broken, the natural tendency is to throw those things away. Hope is given up and the item is deemed useless. In a marriage that has experienced infidelity or in any other relationship where trust has been compromised we deem it fit to just discard and walk away. The human mind and heart has rightfully decided that the best thing to do with something that is broken is to throw it away and look for something new. But you see, God uses the foolish things of the world to confound the wise (1 Corinthians 1:27).When we are broken God has the ability to put us back together. He has the capability to mold us as the potter molds his clay into a beautiful piece of art. In this state we even function better than ever before. Isaiah 64:8 says "...We are the clay and You are the potter; and we are the work of Your hand." A renewed you, a recreated you is the masterpiece of God's hand.<br />
<br />
What we don't realize is that our lives become a landfill of broken items that create pressure that can never be released unless we take it to God in prayer. This was the cry of King David in Psalm 51, as he pleaded with God to create in him a new heart. He admitted that his sins and transgressions had broken him and he needed a new heart. Notice his cry to God was not to have a repaired heart, he specifically asked God, the Potter, to create a new heart. The significance of this is to be able to operate in the manner that will glorify God. To rid he body and the mind of the sinful habits that once held him bound. In the state of brokenness we are set free from pride, stubbornness, rebellion, disobedience and anger that don't allow the Holy Spirit to freely move in our lives and direct us in the will of God. This is the time that we must subdue our spirit and completely humble ourselves before God. In your state of brokenness God is able to use you. How useful is an egg if its not broken, even when it has gone through the pressure of boiling water. It's only after it has been broken that you are able to access the contents that are so useful to you. Broken to become beautiful. Broken to become useful. Broken to experience victory. Broken to rise above. Broken to heal. Broken to experience freedom. Broken to overcome. Broken to be released from shame. Broken to breakthrough.<br />
Ask God to break you today so that you can breakthrough those challenges you are facing. Pray that God will create a new heart within you.<br />

It is a normal part of life to make plans and set goals. Sometimes things work out the way we plan and sometimes they don't. So, what do we do when things don't work out the way we plan? What do we do when things take a little longer than expected? Do we get angry and become frustrated at God? Do we play the blame game on God or perhaps our loved ones? What do you do?What we ought to do, is trust God's timing.Yes friends, trust God's timing. Did you ever read that scripture from Isaiah 55:8 that explains to us that God's ways are not our ways? Well of course, that's true. God's timing does not even compare to the human clock. That's because from the very beginning, He knew what the end would be and everything in between. He is All Knowing.<br />

I like putting puzzles together. I have the app on my tablet that scrambles the pieces up for you. You can choose small, medium or large peices; I normally go for the small pieces to make me think a little more and of course it's like busy work. My technique is picking out the corner pieces first, then joining the side walls with the straight edges to create the frame of the puzzle. That makes it a little easier to fit the remaining pieces in. Let's consider this as a template for what it takes to trust God's timing.<br />

Now, let's consider God's timing framework. The first corner piece is understanding that God is not a wicked God. He loves you and desires nothing but the best for you. He says in Jeremiah 29:11 that His plans for you are of good and not of evil, to give you a hope and a future. So never for one minute think that He is torturing you. No, he is preparing you for a greater testimony. One that is not rushed and muddled together.<br />

The second corner piece is trusting that God knows everything including how the plans for that glorious future will come together to create the bigger picture. At this juncture there must be a total surrender to Him, believing He's got this and He doesn't need your help! So, butt out!<br />

The third corner piece is having the understanding that God is All-Powerful. He can do anything so don't think that things are not working out because it's too difficult. "For with God, nothing shall be impossible". Luke 1:37. He is a limitless God, no boundaries, no obstacle has ever been created that He <b><i>cannot</i></b> get through. He is undefeatable and unstoppable! (This is the part I would break out speaking in tongues if this were a verbal blog! Too bad I can't spell in tongues!)<br />

The fourth corner piece is knowing that God is faithful. He hears the cry of His children and He is ready to answer. The only 'but' to that is you must also be faithful. Don't give up on God. Don't give up on hope. Learn to suffer long. That is supposed to be a part of your Christian habit (Galatians 5:22). It keeps you on the treadmill of perseverance. And please, very importantly, make sin your enemy. Let sin be something you are allergic to.<br />

One of my many favorite scriptures is Habakkuk 2:3, <i>"For the vision is yet for an appointed time; but it speaks of an end, and does not lie. If it delays, wait for it; it will surely come, it will not delay." </i>This scripture has brought me through some difficult times.That sounds contradictory doesn't it? It's not. It's just to explain that in our eyes it's taking forever, but for God, it's just in time.<br />

I hear it said all the time that delay is not denial. When things take a little longer than expected God is working on some magnificent pieces for a spectacular end product. Wait on God and trust His timing. It's never too early and it's definitely never late.</div>

The song reads like this "How can I describe a God that's indescribable? How can I explain a God that's unexplainable? I'm at a loss for words...." But I wanted to answer the question, even though there are so many ways to describe God, the words are not even enough. Though there are so many ways to describe God, they don't amount to the way God really is. That is just the amazingness of God (yes, I realize that's not a word, but we'll manage it for the purpose of this write up!!).<br />

I always love to praise God and call Him by all the things He is to me. I feel that is the best way to really worship Him. The Awesome God, Mighty God, Amazing, Loving, Faithful, Merciful, Compassionate God. Some have experienced Him as a Healer, Savior, Deliverer, Restorer, Redeemer. I know Him as El-Olam (Everlasting Father), Jehovah Tsidkenu (God my Righteousness), My Banner, Jehovah Jireh (God the Provider). He is known to be Bigger than the biggest, Greater than the greatest, Deeper than the deepest, Wider than the widest. He is All powerful, All knowing, I Am that I Am, I Am that Is! He's described as the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. The God of Elijah, the God that answers by fire, the God of Daniel, the Covenant keeping God. A Strong Tower, The Mighty Man in battle, He can do all things, Be all things. He's undefeated, incomparable, unstoppable. The God that creates but was never created. He's not a man but created man even in His own image and His own likeness. He doesn't need my money to be activated or motivated to be who He is or what I need Him to be. He is, and He is God all by Himself. The same, yesterday, today and even forever more.<br />

Israel Houghton is one of my favorite gospel recording artists and in the beginning of that song "Identity", he said, "one of the things plaguing our generation today is the issue of identity" We've all heard several songs that speak to identity, boldly proclaiming that we know who we are in Christ, that we know our God. When we hear those songs that are often in the tone of declaration, we sing them with boldness and confidence even with extra oomph!! "I'm walking in power, I'm walking in miracles, I live a life of favor, I know who I am..." That was sang by Sinach. Israel Houghton sang it best in His song when he sang, "You are my father, You are Father, in You I find my identity". Genesis 1:26-27 says:</div>

Now say with me "Imago dei"! Imago dei is the Hebrew way of saying <i>Image of God</i>. I was introduced to this concept a few weeks ago in the Bible College class I'm taking. My professor asked "What does that look like to you?, to be made in the image of God? I went blank. I'd never considered that before. If someone asks who are you, you begin to recite your name, tell your age, tell your mother and father's names and say you're their daughter or son; maybe give your social security number to add validity; but it's way deeper than that. <br />
To really begin to answer the question, '<i>Who am I?'</i> , you must begin to understand the image of whom you were actually created. God said "let us make man in our image and in our likeness". Image simply put is the physical representation or physical likeness of a person, thing or animal, the resemblance, depiction or portrayal.<br />

<br />Now what is God like? What is the image of God? God is love, God is peace, God is power, God is intelligent, God is creative, God is patient, God is kind, God is bold, God is beautiful. God is emotional but He is rational. God is free and He is holy. God is awesome and the list is endless. All these things that God is, we are.</div>

I considered going back to the beginning after God created Adam and Eve and He gave them free will and access to everything He created with just one clause. We all know what that clause, in Genesis 2:16-17,<i>" ...eat of every tree but the tree of knowledge of good and evil".</i> Now something we must always remember of Satan is that he does not create, he cannot create, he was created in beauty and splendor but likened his beauty and splendor to his own power and might, that's why he fell. What Satan does is he tweaks everything, mars and scratches things all up so we don't recognize the original form.</div>

After God created us the second gift after life was the ability to create. He said to us "be fruitful and multiply. So you have the ability to create. That is the first ability in your identity. Satan makes people believe they are homosexual in order to minimize that ability to create, to procreate. Satan makes people believe they don't have talents so they don't tap into their creative abilities. The next thing God blessed us with is dominion, power, authority! When God created the animals, He gave Adam the ability to give names to all the living creatures including his wife. That is authority. The ability to speak those things that are not as though they were (Romans 4:17). Depression is not yours, oppression is not yours, weakness is not yours, sickness is not yours! The minute you begin to allow those things to be spoken into your life, they are planted as seeds and begin to grow. You must exercise authority over those things. His Word says in 2 Tim 1:7, "For God has not giving you the spirit of fear but of boldness, of power and of a sound mind"....other versions say the spirit of timidity... some say but of self-control. God is not timid, God is not fearful, God is power and He is boldness. </div>

wrong assumptions can be defined as something wrongly taken for granted or
falsely accepted as true without proof.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

wrong assumptions is not innate but is a learned behavior in my opinion. Often
times we are too lazy to find out the entire truth so we assume. As Christians often times we believe that if
we take God’s word on the surface that its “good enough”. We believe because
God is a God of mercy and the Bible tells us that He is good, it’s okay for us
to pick and choose what we “feel” is right or wrong. Hence, <i>wrong assumptions</i>. For instance we
assume that if we go to church every Sunday and “live right” God is
automatically happy with us or is on our side. We assume as human beings in
general; that is believers and unbelievers alike; that with such things as
material prosperity is as a result of God being on our side so no further action
is required on our part and we are not outside His will. But this is not true.
It’s a matter of complete obedience. Prosperity is ours no doubt, its promised
to us as children of God, however we also understand that as it is written in
Matthew 6:13 that we must seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness
and all these things will be added unto us.
John 8:32 says “we shall know the truth and the truth shall set us
free”. The key word there is “know”; know the word, know your God, know the
circumstances and seek to understand the entire situation, whatever that might
be. <o:p></o:p></span></div>

of different beliefs and backgrounds have been expressing their feelings and

culture has accepted two huge lies. The first is that if you disagree with
someone’s lifestyle you must hate them. The second is that to love someone
means you agree with everything they believe, say or do. Both are nonsense. You
don’t have to compromise convictions to be compassionate.” <o:p></o:p></span></div>

These are all synonyms for the word "Wait". To wait means to stay where one is or delay action until a particular time or until something else happens. Not an easy thing to do admittedly in most situations. In fact waiting in the context of God can be one of the most difficult things to do because Gods time is so not our time. It is written in Habakkuk 2:3 (MEV) that "...the vision is yet for an appointed time;but it speaks of the end and does not lie. If it delays, wait for it; it will surely come, it will not delay." Sounds redundant right? How can you say if it delays then say it will not delay. Well the truth is that God's time is not our time, in our eyes anything that doesn't manifest within the timeline we expect, we feel it's late or even times early, but God's time is the best time, the appointed time. That's why the ability to wait is an important virtue believers must possess. My grandmother used to always pray a prayer for me which turned out to be more like a word of caution. She'd pray "You will not work/live according to someone else's time". A simple prayer it seems, but power packed. I never understood what the prayer meant until I became much older. It simply meant your time is different from the next persons time. Interestingly enough that is a fact of life. If you stand in the midst of at least two or three people and ask for the time one person 's time will read one minute fast and another one minute slow and the other just on the dot. It shows that our times are different as it pertains to our respective destinies. God is the fascinating like that. Our scripture encourages us to "wait". That word is key because our ability to do so will surely bring our appointed time to pass. God 's promises are worth the wait. <br>
You must decide, however, to wait so you don't become an easy target for the devil. He'll make attempts but it will prove futile when you stand sure in God. People who find waiting difficult to do become the Devils bull's-eye because they have shifted from God 's will. Shifting from God's will produces disobedience and diminishes your faith. It causes you to lower your standards and just creates a mess of things because you will try to figure things out on your own. Habakkuk 2:4B says that "the just shall live by faith". Who are the just? Those that believe God, trust God and abide by His word. While waiting fill your heart with the word. Isaiah 40:31 tells us what happens to those that wait ; that their strength will be renewed, they will rise up with wings as eagles, when they run they will not be weary, and not faint when they walk. This all means waiting produces perserverance and grace because when the appointed promise comes at the appointed time you'll be able to handle all of God 's glorious promises . Coal goes through fire before becoming gold. There is a process before it's destiny manifests. We go through the process of waiting so that our destinies can manifest according to the will of God. Wait on the Lord, He'll come through and you will not be disappointed.<br>

Jesus says in this passage that you are salt and you are light. That is, you are what gives this dish called life, flavor and what causes those in the dark to see the Light (Jesus). In Potiphars house Joseph was the salt, he brought flavor to his master's house- no wonder Potiphars wife tried at all cost to taste him!! Genesis 39: 3 says that Potiphar saw that the Lord was with him. That is the salt and light in Joseph. </div>

I like how the Message translation put this scripture, Matthew 5:13-16; "Let me tell you why you are here. You're here to be salt-seasoning that brings out the God-flavors of this earth. If you loose your saltiness, how will people taste godliness? You've lost your usefulness and will end up in the garbage. Here's another way to put it: you're here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We're going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. If I make you light bearers, you don't think I'm going to hide you under a bucket do you? I'm putting you on a light stand. Now that I've put you there on a hilltop, on a lightstand- shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you'll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in Heaven." This just makes perfect sense. It means you matter to God and because you matter He wants you to shine, He wants you to stand out. He wants people to see the light in you and experience the flavor. Let's look at it as a formula if you will;</div>

<i> </i>What are those salt-seasoning's? : A life submitted to God (i.e. Born again, spirit filled, sanctified, etc.)<i> <b>Plus</b></i> God-flavors (according to Galations 5:22-the fruit of the spirit): Love, Joy, Peace, Goodness, Long-suffering, Gentleness, Faithfulness, Self-control, Kindness <b><i>equals</i> </b>A Taste of Godliness which is a life that expresses the awesomeness of God. A life dedicated to God that exemplifies God, i.e. worship, service, obedience, sacrificial living, a lifestyle of holiness that pleases God (Romans12:1). Once you consider yourself to be "Born again", meaning you believe in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and you have decided to have a change of heart and a renewing of mind that is described in Romans 12:2, your secular life becomes a thing of the past and you begin to stand out, then there is a mandate for you to be relevant. There is a mandate to be relevant as our earlier scripture in the Message translation tells us that we are light that cannot be hidden, we have been set upon a hill to stand out and that others may see us and desire to join us to also be light that shines. No matter where you are people will see that light in you. Your boss should know why you are so brilliant, why you are so joyful and always optimistic. Why you say "it is well" in every circumstance that you face. Your classmates should know why you don't cheat on exams like the rest and why you are always the one that scores highest on all class assignments. Your colleagues should know that because you are salt and light you will not compromise your standards. Mmmm....... When you are salt and light your 'Yes' is 'Yes' and your 'No' is 'No'. The only explaination that those around you will have is that you are a Christian and you don't hide it. </div>

By my third year of working with the city of New York, I had made up my mind about allowing work to keep me from attending mid-week services. So on Tuesdays my supervisor was in the habit of announcing sarcastically to the unit that I'd finished my work early that day because I was headed to Bible study-and I would joyfully respond saying that she was absolutely correct. During my training with the city of New York to become a Child Protective Specialist we were told that we were to be change agents. Our responsibility is to effect change in our clients according to the laws and guidelines of the agency. So as salt and light we are to effect change by the Word of God which is truth and life. We don't complain about what is not being done and how things are being done, we get things done and when things are done we say with confidence like Olivia Pope "It's Handled"!! When you are salt and light you can't afford to let the short comings of others hold you back from achievement. The church today has begun to loose its flavor because of other people's shortcomings. Nowadays most of the flavor comes from the youth and the older generation feels the flavor is too much. But God has a plan for all of us in His kingdom. Joel 2:28 helps us to see how important all generations are to Him. He said He will pour out His spirit on all flesh; verse 28b says "...your sons and your daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams and your young men will see visions." This is the joy of relevance in that we all matter to God and there is something spectacular we are meant to each achieve. </div>

To be salt & light is to know you have a purpose, to know there is a destiny ahead of you that you must fulfill.</div>

In the book of Haggai 2:23 God said He had chosen to make Zerubbabel, His servant, like a signet ring. That is like a brand for His name, a seal, an emblem. What an honor for Zerubbabel just because he dared, despite all odds, to rebuild the temple of the Lord. When you talk about expensive perfumes in the market right now you might consider, Chanel no. 5 (one of my favorites), Hermes 24 Faubourg, Joy by Jean Patou, Clive Christian No. 1, amongst many more. Some perfumes are even as expensive as $1000, per ounce!!!! Mmmm......Expensive perfumes are to be used wisely and cherished at least for their worth and not used lavishly any how.<br />

In Mark 14:3-9, we read about the woman with the alabaster box who lavished her expensive perfume by pouring it on the head of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We read in that passage that some of those present were so angry and disturbed that this woman would waste perfume that is so costly. Jesus said "Leave her alone, she has done a beautiful thing to me...". Worship is a beautiful thing. Its defined as the feeling or expression of reverance and adoration for a deity; it is the act of showing reverence and adoration. John 12:3 tells this same story but tells us <br />
that Mary used the expensive perfume to wash the feet of Jesus using her hair. Worship that is meaningful must be an action. In order for that action to be recognized there must be a genuine motive behind it. For this woman, she knew Jesus would not be there for much longer and wanted to do something that was of worth to please the heart of Jesus. You must be motivated in order to give a worthwhile worship unto God.<br />

There's a song that says "When I think of the goodness of Jesus, and all He has done for me, my very soul will shout Hallelujah, praise God for saving me." God has afforded us so many gifts by His wealth of mercy. Such gifts as eternal love, eternal grace, peace, joy, wisdom, strength, wellness, sound mind, forgiveness, honor,security, hope, comfort, glory and so much more. All these are according to His goodness, how good He has been. One of my best friends shared a quote the other day that says "obstacles are what you see when you take your eyes off the goal". Now that is serious talk! Often times we focus on our present circumstances, what is going on now that is no good and not the good and wonderful things that God has done. We forget about the goodness of God and focus on the ways the Devil finds to disrupt our joy. We should cultivate the habit of putting our focus on the good things God has done and will still do because as a matter of fact, great things He has done and greater things He will do. This is what beleivers should focus on. These are the things that will propel the worship that is in our hearts and in our souls. In John 4:24 Jesus said the true worshippers will worship God in spirit and in truth. That is worship that is God centered and not music centered. I like to consider myself to be a worshipper of sorts, I love to worship. I'd like to think that my worship is not controlled or motivated by the sound of music or the beautiful voice of an awesome leader of worship, but my worship comes from the consideration of how good God is. It comes from thinking of what could have been and realizing what it is that God has kept me from; despair, sadness, heartache, poverty, homelessness etc. It comes from considering that God each day has considered it worthwhile that I remain in the land of the living. It comes from considering that those with whom I was born on the same day, month, year or hour are no more but I am. It comes from knowing that even those whom are living along with me are living a life of sorrow and agony because they don't know God or choose not to acknowledge Him and can't even phathom the goodness in still being alive. They can't even imagine how good it is to know that He has made available for us all eternal life, that His will for us is that of good and not of evil to give us a hope and a future towards an expected end (Jeremiah 29:11). When I think of all these why shouldn't I worship?<br />

The apostle Paul urged us in Romans 12:1-2 that we present ourselves (our bodies) as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto God for this will be considered as our resonable service of worship. We are to give all we are and all we have in giving God a true worship. Some people worship because music is playing, some worship to show off their voice, some worship because they want to get something from God. True worship should be done to show your appreciation to God because of who He is and not what he has done.This woman in Mark 14:3-9 considered all these things and thought "I will give Jesus the most valuable thing I have, my perfume. I want Him to know that He's worth much more than this expensive perfume so I will sacrifice it to honor Him, to reverence Him. You know, He takes pleasure in our worship, that is the worship from the heart, it is like a sweet smelling perfume. I have a big brother who kneels down everytime during praise and worship and does not stand up until its over. This is his reasonable sacrifice. Some worship by prostrating or rolling around to show how much they reverence God. The twenty four elders and four living creatures bow down day and night non stop to worship God. Revelation 4: 10 says that the twenty four elders fall down before him who sits on the throne, and worship him who lives for ever and ever. They lay down their crowns before hime and say "You are worthy our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you have created all things and by your will they were created and have their being." Oh my, who am I not to worship this God? <br />

How expensive is your worship? There are no mechanics to worship, its simple, lay down your crowns, humble yourself and bow down before Him. Open your heart and the words will come out, the worship will flow.<br />

indicate a 'yes, they do know God'. However if I ask 'Do you KNOW God?', they

yourself, "Do I know God? If not how do I get to KNOW God?" Let's
consider the steps it takes to get to know someone:<o:p></o:p></span></div>

initial introductions, you keep conversations active by listening and
responding. Nod your head, display appropriate facial expressions. Smile. Look
at your new friend in the eyes. Romans 10:17 says that faith cometh by hearing
and hearing by the Word of God. So we talk to God via our prayers and we
communicate with Him via the knowledge and understanding of His word.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

require more than a one word response. Don't put the other person in the
position to respond with just a "yes" or "no" answer.
Instead of asking God "Can you hear me, do you love me?", say to God,
"I feel like you don't love me, and I get so worried sometimes, feeling
like you're not there and sometimes like my prayers are falling on deaf
ears." God will respond saying "My child, as it is written in my
word, I love you so much that I gave my only begotten son; (John 3:16) it is
also written in my Word that my hand is not too short to deliver you neither my
ears deaf that I cannot hear, but your iniquities have separated you from me
(Isaiah 59:1). With this response you understand that you need to check
inwards, check yourself and examine your life and reconcile yourself to God. (1
Corinthians 13:5)<o:p></o:p></span></div>

respond verbally- show interest in what the person is saying. Show that you
want to know more about what they know. "Oh God, have mercy on me,
according to your loving-kindness (Ps. 51:1-3). Start to confess and repent and
show God you want to make amends for the error of your ways. This creates an
engaging conversation and prompts deeper questions and answered between you and
God.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

other person lets them know that you enjoy their company. So be in constant
prayer, praise and worship, have quiet time where God can speak to you in that
small still voice. Attend church programs, don't make Sundays a routine; make
it an opportunity to have an encounter with God, so also church programs.
Attend with the mindset that you are going to meet with God and you want Him to
touch you, reveal Himself to you, use you, take you to another realm of the
spirit in Him.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

getting to know and avoids fake relationships and misplaced intentions. God
says "I know the plans I have for you" (Jeremiah 29:11) this
illustrates that He has the best intentions for you, "plans to prosper you
and give you hope and a future toward an expected end". Let your heart
towards God be genuine, after all, He is the only one that can see inwardly, He
is the only one that knows your heart, so why not just be real with Him.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

KNOW your God you can overcome anything. The part b of Daniel 11:32, says that
"....those who know their God will be strong and do exploits." Job is
an example. All seemed lost and bleak, even his friends mocked him and his God.
His wife told him to "curse God and die"; but Job knew his God and
stood his ground and became triumphant in the very face of adversity. When you
can vouch for your God, your God will vouch for you.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

you know when you ask in His name you will receive. 1 John 5:14 "And this
is the confidence we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His
will, he will answer us." When you know your God and you stand confident
in Him, He causes your enemies to make fools of themselves.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

considered him to be His friend- Abraham knew what he had been through with
God, the mercy God showered on him, the challenges and obstacles God brought
him through even to have a child at his age of 100 years old. So when God told
him to give that child as a burnt offering sacrifice, it was no big deal. He
trusted God, He knew God. He knew God's promises are "Yes and Amen".<o:p></o:p></span></div>
