Wait!

Hold on, Hold back, Stand by, Hold fast! These are all synonyms for the word "Wait". To wait means to stay where one is or delay action until a particular time or until something else happens. Not an easy thing to do admittedly in most situations. In fact waiting in the context of God can be one of the most difficult things to do because Gods time is so not our time. It is written in Habakkuk 2:3 (MEV) that "...the vision is yet for an appointed time;but it speaks of the end and does not lie. If it delays, wait for it; it will surely come, it will not delay." Sounds redundant right? How can you say if it delays then say it will not delay. Well the truth is that God's time is not our time, in our eyes anything that doesn't manifest within the timeline we expect, we feel it's late or even times early, but God's time is the best time, the appointed time. That's why the ability to wait is an important virtue believers must possess. My grandmother used to always pray a prayer for me which turned out to be more like a word of caution. She'd pray "You will not work/live according to someone else's time". A simple prayer it seems, but power packed. I never understood what the prayer meant until I became much older. It simply meant your time is different from the next persons time. Interestingly enough that is a fact of life. If you stand in the midst of at least two or three people and ask for the time one person 's time will read one minute fast and another one minute slow and the other just on the dot. It shows that our times are different as it pertains to our respective destinies. God is the fascinating like that. Our scripture encourages us to "wait". That word is key because our ability to do so will surely bring our appointed time to pass. God 's promises are worth the wait.
You must decide, however, to wait so you don't become an easy target for the devil. He'll make attempts but it will prove futile when you stand sure in God. People who find waiting difficult to do become the Devils bull's-eye because they have shifted from God 's will. Shifting from God's will produces disobedience and diminishes your faith. It causes you to lower your standards and just creates a mess of things because you will try to figure things out on your own. Habakkuk 2:4B says that "the just shall live by faith". Who are the just? Those that believe God, trust God and abide by His word. While waiting fill your heart with the word.  Isaiah 40:31 tells us what happens to those that wait ; that their strength will be renewed, they will rise up with wings as eagles, when they run they will not be weary, and not faint when they walk. This all means waiting produces perserverance and grace because when the appointed promise comes at the appointed time you'll be able to handle all of God 's glorious promises . Coal goes through fire before becoming gold. There is a process before it's destiny manifests. We go through the process of waiting so that our destinies can manifest according to the will of God. Wait on the Lord, He'll come through and you will not be disappointed.
